Mechanical Source Inspector:

Ø Perform mechanical inspection using precision measuring devices/instruments at supplier’s facility to verify compliance to drawings, standards/specifications and other PO requirements

Ø Verify material certifications against PO requirements, part marking where required and visually inspect for obvious defects/ damage

Minimum 5 years of precision mechanical inspection experience is required

Strong understanding of, and experience with, ANSI Y 14.5 GD&T

Ability to read and interpret drawings and basic computer skills are a must

Experience working with tight tolerances

Hands-on mechanical inspection experience

Must have experience working with Mil-standards

Previous source inspection experience

Candidate will be supporting other inspectors with Maritime Applied Physics testing/documentation (March – June) and other local inspections (est. 20 hours or more). However, more hours are available if they are open to travel to support out-of-state inspections.

Job Description:

Representative shall perform source inspections, process verification, manufacturing and quality systems surveillance, and conduct quality systems audits and/or Product / Process Evaluations as directed by client Procurement Quality Assurance (PQA)Management, client purchase contracts and sub-contracts to client suppliers and their sub-tier suppliers.
Representative shall manage and analyze data, create trend charts and metrics, and support flow-down of quality requirements to client's suppliers and their sub-tier suppliers.
Representative shall provide test support,inspection support for electronic components, as well as manage and analyze data, test equipment and support avionics quality activities.
Representative shall perform First Article, In-Process and Final Inspections at client's supplier facilities.
Source Inspection methods include: Visual, Test Witness, Monitoring and Records Review

Tasks Include:

* Source Inspections (types):Mechanical, electrical, electronic, structural, machined parts, tooling, digital data, processes, functional test, non-destnictive inspection, non- destructive testing, both ln-process and final product acceptance.

* First Article Inspections (FAI).

* QMS / Special Process Audits.

* Product / Process Evaluations.

* Acceptance Data Package (ADP) Review.

* Root Cause Preventive and Corrective Action.

* Hardware Acceptance Reviews.

* Pedigree Reviews.

* Quality Councils.

* Quality Summits.

* Participate in Program and PQA Corrective Action Boards (CABs).

* Participate in Delegated Supplier Partner Boards.

* Participate in Supplier Contested Rating discussions.

* Develop charts, metrics, and/or presentations for both recurring and non-recurring requirements.

* Facilitate meetings

* Create and manage databases in Microsoft Excel, SAP, or other client systems.

* Provide general Quality Engineering support (i.e., answering questions, performing investigations and data analysis, etc.).
